Effective May 1, 2008, Connecticut Senate Bill 704 requires new communications for consumer reporting agencies, including background screening companies like Corporate Screening.
When a Corporate Screening report includes criminal matters of public record originating from the Connecticut Judicial Department on a candidate for employment purposes, Corporate Screening must:
- Notify the candidate that Corporate Screening is reporting criminal matters of public record about him/her in a consumer report.
- Communicate the name and address of the Corporate Screening client to whom the consumer report is being issued.
Additional Requirement: Procedures must be in place ensuring the info being reported is accurate and up-to-date. At Corporate Screening, re-verification is and has always been an underpinning to our continued success.
