The Analytical Approach
to Background Screening
CLIENT ALERT
Connecticut Enacts New Requirements

Effective May 1, 2008, Connecticut Senate Bill 704 requires new communications for consumer reporting agencies, including background screening companies like Corporate Screening.

When a Corporate Screening report includes criminal matters of public record originating from the Connecticut Judicial Department on a candidate for employment purposes, Corporate Screening must:

  • Notify the candidate that Corporate Screening is reporting criminal matters of public record about him/her in a consumer report.

  • Communicate the name and address of the Corporate Screening client to whom the consumer report is being issued.

Additional Requirement: Procedures must be in place ensuring the info being reported is accurate and up-to-date. At Corporate Screening, re-verification is and has always been an underpinning to our continued success.
