Unprecedented Budget Cuts Cause California State Courts to Close One Day a Month

California state courts were closed September 16th as part of a plan that will offset budget cutbacks through state court closures one day a month from September 2009 through June 2010.

The Judicial Council approved the closures for the third Wednesday of every month. The closures will save the state more than $94 million. Specific court closures include the Supreme Court of California, the Courts of Appeal, the Administrative Office of the Courts, and the superior courts in each of California's 58 counties.

Rest assured that Corporate Screening will do everything possible in order to minimize delays that might be incurred due to the closures.
