The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) normally posts regular updates to its List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE), identifying individuals and entities excluded from participation in any federal health care program. The OIG reported today that their database was down between July 15, 2010 through August 4, 2010, which may have rendered some checks administered during this timeframe inaccurate.
In an effort to help alleviate the impact of the OIG’s error, Corporate Screening is currently re-running all OIG LEIE checks free-of-charge for its clients that were run during this original timeframe. We will be communicating specific information to those affected individuals as soon as possible. Rest assured that we will continue to keep you apprised of any further updates as it pertains to the OIG LEIE database, and alert you whenever we discover any information that affects your background check information.
