Effective July 1, 2010, the New York State Office of Court Administration (OCA) statewide criminal history record search fee is increasing from $55 to $65 per search. The search results are public records relating to open/pending and convictions of criminal cases originating from County/Supreme, City, Town and Village courts of all 62 counties.

The search criteria are strictly based on exact match of name and date of birth. This means that name and/or date of birth variations between what is in the OCA files and what is used to search the files will NOT result in a “hit” and may require subsequent searches which will trigger additional OCA search fees. The following clients will be affected:

  • Those who specifically request an OCA search
  • Those who require a county court criminal conviction search in one of the following New York counties where the OCA is the only option:
    • Allegany
    • Bronx
    • Cayuga
    • Cortland
    • Hamilton
    • Kings
    • Montgomery
    • Nassau
    • New York
    • Orleans
    • Queens
    • Richmond

We will continue to limit, as best possible, the potential for incurred cost associated with the OCA searches and only conduct the OCA search when required. For example, if a singe county court search request for Erie County is made, Corporate Screening will conduct this search directly at the court and not through the OCA, thus circumventing the OCA fee.
