The Indiana Workforce Development Office recently announced a new system for verifying GED records. The state has selected Diploma Sender as their provider of secure GED document fulfillment services.
Utilizing this new provider, the state expects to significantly reduce the turn-around time for obtaining GED documents. Most document generation can occur within a span of 24 hours to three days. Verifications obtained through this new system may incur additional fees and this new process does not apply to records dated prior to 1985 as these have been archived with the Indiana Commission on Public Records.
While most states still maintain their own GED records, turnaround times for these verifications vary greatly based on each state’s requirements, volume, staffing and process. When requesting GED verifications, please note that these can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks to obtain.
