Corporate Screening recently published a blog about the New York City Fair Chance Act, which goes into effect on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. The New York City Commission on Human Rights has put together a Fair Chance Notice form that employers can use when complying with the new law. The form is available at http://www.nyc.gov/html/cchr/html/coverage/fair-chance.shtml.
For your convenience, the form is also available in the Resources section in EASE, and is also located on Corporate Screening’s website in the Forms section under the Resources tab (http://corporatescreening.com/resources/overview).
Please note that the NYC Commission on Human Rights has indicated that it will soon publish a guide for employers. The guide will assist employers with following the new law. When it becomes available, Corporate Screening will let you know and assist you with accessing it.
If you have any questions about the Fair Chance Act or need additional assistance with compliance issues, please contact Corporate Screening at 800-229-8606.
