Corporate Screening has learned that court clerks in Santa Clara County, California will go on strike on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. This means that no case files will be pulled by the clerks on Wednesday, which effectively prevents our researchers from obtaining the majority of criminal case information in this county. As a result, your background check results could potentially be delayed. Please note that court researchers are still able to access the criminal index, so returning clear results is not anticipated to be a problem during the strike.
At this time, there is no prediction as to how long the strike will last. Although Court management will be running mandatory court functions during the strike, they will not be staffing the counters, which means an inevitable backlog.
Corporate Screening will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated as we learn more. In the meanwhile, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
