Published 4/24/2020 -  Court closures worldwide continue to be a fluid situation as we all continue to navigate the impact of COVID 19.  Despite these closures, Corporate Screening still has access to over 90% of the U.S. Courts and continues to be able to fulfill over 85% of all criminal record instances in the U.S.  This limited disruption is due in part to our proprietary technology, vendor network, and direct relationship with court clerks.

However, there are instances where courts may appear to be open for business but are open only to limited staff and closed to the public.  In situations like these, Corporate Screening and all other screening firms may not be able to fulfill requests.

The following is a summary of operating statuses for courts across the country:

  • Court Open – business as usual with no delays expected
  • Court Open to Staff Only / Digital Index Available / No Public Access – Criminal searches can be fulfilled for those searches with no name match.  Searches with a name match and identifiers contained in the index can be fulfilled.  Searches with name match with no identifiers contained in the index may not be fulfilled.
  • Court Open to Staff Only / NO Digital Index Available / No Public Access – Criminal searches may not be fulfilled unless staff are willing and able to assist.
  • Court Closed / Digital Index Available - Criminal searches can be fulfilled for those searches with no name match.  Searches with a name match and identifiers contained in index can be fulfilled.  Searches with name match with no identifiers contained in the index may not be fulfilled.
  • Court Closed / NO Digital Index Available – Criminal searches will not be fulfilled.
